By Decision No. 11145 of 6 February 2025, the Banking Regulation and Supervision Agency ended the practice of denying new TRY commercial cash loans to companies subject to independent audit whose foreign currency cash assets exceeded certain thresholds.
By Decision No. 11145 of 6 February 2025, the Banking Regulation and Supervision Agency ended the practice under which no new Turkish lira commercial cash loan could be extended to companies subject to independent audit whose foreign currency cash assets had a Turkish lira equivalent above TRY 10 million as at the date of the loan application, where those foreign currency cash assets exceeded 5% of the greater of total assets per their most recent financial statements or net sales revenue for the last year. Decision No. 11145 of 6 February 2025 also repealed Decision No. 10389 of 21 October 2022 and the related Board Decisions No. 10250 of 24 June 2022, No. 10265 of 7 July 2022, No. 10348 of 28 September 2022, No. 10389 of 21 October 2022 and No. 10659 of 4 September 2023. Accordingly, the practice of denying new Turkish lira commercial cash loans to companies subject to independent audit on the basis of those foreign currency thresholds has been discontinued.
